Detailed Description

Swim Instructors are responsible for delivering high quality swim lessons that align with Blue Fin's philosophy of acceptance, enthusiasm, and technical excellence. Blue Fin prides itself on being a family-oriented, fun environment, and a school that has a long history of the teaching of swimming to an exceptionally high technical level.

Following Blue Fin's lesson plans, teachers will be responsible for delivering engaging, safe, and fun lessons for swimmers aged 3 to 12. They should have a competent knowledge of all aspects of swimming teaching, and an understanding of how best to communicate their knowledge to students. They will be expected to develop a rapport with students, building relations that will further aid in the teaching process. Working with senior staff, class teachers will be responsible for the ongoing evaluation and assessment of students, and the communication of progress to senior staff.

Good interpersonal skills will be highly valued, as well as a willingness to adhere to the values of teamwork, acceptance, and enthusiasm in the workplace. Blue Fin will hold its instructors to the highest standards of personal conduct and presentation, suitable for the family-oriented focus of the business. As Blue Fin prides itself on continuity of teaching staff for its students, punctuality and regular attendance of shifts are of the utmost importance.

Lessons are conducted 7 days per week in the mornings and afternoons all year round.

If you enjoy working with children or have experience with children in a water environment, and you hold the following current qualifications, then this is the position for you.

Training Hours will commence during late June and early July, with permanent shifts starting in Term 3 2019 (Monday 15th of July). 

This is a casual position, with the potential for future transition to full time-employment should the applicant display commitment and excellence when employed at Blue Fin.

All applicants must have a suitable qualification for the teaching of swimming in Australia, up-to-date CPR qualification, and current Working with Children Check.
