The Club Development Leader will provide strategic direction and operational leadership for all aspects of Athletics NZ’s club development initiatives, in alignment with Athletics NZ strategic and business objectives. This role is pivotal to the ongoing success of our sport at the grassroots level.

The key areas of the role include leading the Athletics NZ Club Development Project, ensuring generic support is available for our 180+ affiliated clubs, assisting and encouraging clubs to become affiliated with Athletics NZ, assisting with the development of new clubs, training volunteers, managing and setting financial budgets and being an engaged and effective member of the Athletics NZ team. In addition, this role would work closely both with the Community Manager, and other members of the community team to ensure the Athletics NZ competitions, officiating, coaching and club systems are ‘linked up’ in such a way as to improve athlete and volunteer engagement and retention within our sport.
